Slightly Cheaper Than Therapy

Just another weblog

About August 20, 2007

Legal assistant by day, foodie/baker/wanna-be chef by every other spare minute who’s landlocked in Texas without a good beach within a reasonable driving distance. Adorer of food in every shape and form except fennel and goat cheese.  If you’re looking for recipes including those, keep on surfin’.  Creating new culinary masterpieces and/or disasters keeps me from getting too bored on a daily basis.  Music nerd/junkie/enthusiast who lives for good live music, especially stuff from Counting Crows. I once drove 22 hours straight to catch a show, and for the right band I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Equally a literature nerd/junkie/enthusiast who’s library ranges from David Sedaris to Malcom X to JK Rowling to Shakespeare. I love people, pets, pastries and pretty shoes. Not necessarily in that order :o) But mostly I love my husband who makes me laugh so hard that I nearly piss myself on a regular basis.

Absolutely the most fabulous food blog I have ever seen. Nice work. I have to say, though, that I might need to discontinue our friendship on the basis that you do not like goat cheese…my all time fave food. I think it makes everything (EVERYTHING) taste better. From eggs to pizza, what’s not to love about the creamy goodness of cheese from a goat. I’ll let it go.

PS- I’m regretting not taking you up on the leftover empanadas (sorry if I spelled that wrong).

    Editorial Assistant,

P.S. Congrats on joining Daring Bakers! I would like to be skilled enough to do that one day. And I must say you have excellent taste, as I too love people, pets, pastries and pretty shoes. =)

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog. I’ve tried several of the recipes, all great. I do wish you would give us anxious readers your “best” cookie recipe, even if the stingy person who gave you the recipe told you to keep it secret. Maybe you could give the recipe to your hubby and let him post it for you. Afterall, he made no promises!
I will never understand why people refuse to share recipes.
